Pre Tropical Cyclone Ingrid
Most of that day was spent by Jacob and Myself tour guiding a reporter from
the Sydney Morning Herald who was in Darwin doing a story on lightning.
But shy old Darwin wouldn't show her wild side for our guest, instead, she
waited until he was sound asleep in his hotel room before letting rip!
Here are a couple of photos of us posing for the Sydney Morning Herald at
East Point. The camera man is down the hole trying to frame Jacob up with the
Cell behind. This cell let of a few close strikes so I'm sure our guest saw 1/2
a years worth of Sydney lightning but nothing major by Darwin Standards/

The shots below were taken at about 3:00am Sunday morning after a pretty
uneventful day. On our way home we saw this light show just explode to the south
of the city and were almost going to ignore it out of extreme fatigue.
Fortunately we didn't it turned out to be one of the most intense lightning ive
seen in Darwin to date.
Seeing this just added to the nervous excitement that was over Darwin at the
time. All we could wonder was 'Is it an indication of the ferocity that lay
ahead in Cyclone Ingrid?'
